Robert L. Crawford and Rosalie Rodriguez have collaborated on a new book, George M. Sutton's Watercolors for Georgia Birds: A New Look, which features the paintings beautifully reproduced and Sutton's original essay and vignettes. The hardcover book, published by Tall Timbers Press, is 10 x 12 inches, 96 pages, and will be available for purchase at the Webster Gallery on Sunday, November 19 and on our website November 27.

The 2017 breeding season is in the books, but not without a dramatic late push to the finish line. Despite birds getting out of the gate quickly, with the first nest found on May 1 (about 1 week early than normal), bobwhite per capita production in the Red Hills remained low compared to long-term averages for much of the season. While dodging hurricanes, ample rainfall throughout the summer fueled vegetation growth, which produced above average adult survival, especially in the Albany region.

Kevin’s Fine Outdoor Gear and Apparel held its 2nd Southern Game Fair Friday, November 10, at Greenwood Plantation Campus in Thomasville, Georgia. There were dog and fly fishing demonstrations, helicopter and wagon rides, and the veterans present were honored for their service in recognition of Veterans' Day.
