ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Property Manager, the General Laborer will primarily be responsible for the general operations of the farm that include maintenance of the farm and livestock. This position also supports guest services.
As a General Laborer, the job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Safely operate farm tractors to mow roads, clear and clean roads after storms and maintain feed trails.
Handle heavy equipment to clear debris in woods and create burn piles. Operate ATVs and UTVs to assist with burning.
Maintain knowledge of farming including harrowing, planting and spraying.
Perform daily duties that include, but are not limited to, feeding livestock, using chemicals to clear fences and control weeds, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and running errands / airport trips.
Must be prepared to work during the holiday season.
All other duties as assigned.
This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Heavy equipment experience is a plus. ATV/UTV experience is highly preferred.
The employee must be able to solve practical problems and be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
The employee must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals The employee must be able to to write routine reports and correspondence.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
If position requires the operation of a vehicle, the employee must possess a valid Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment. The employee’s driving record must meet the standards and requirements of the Company and the Company's insurance carrier.
The employee must adhere to Company and Property policies and procedures, which are included in the Employee Handbook.
The employee must present documentation establishing both identity and employment authorization within three days of hire, pursuant to federal law.
The candidate must undergo pre-employment drug test, (after offer is given but before applicant has commenced work). Random drug tests may be given throughout the year.
The employee must have a personal vehicle to travel from property location to local town for personal needs.

The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to perform physical labor for extended periods of time.
