Description
Key Responsibilities: • Manage and monitor the overall health and sustainability of wildlife habitats on the property. • Oversee day-to-day operations of a cattle ranch, including herd management, feeding, fencing, breeding, and grazing strategies including management intensive grazing practices. • Working with a forester implementing sustainable timber management practices, including harvesting, replanting, and making changes for land regeneration. • Coordinate and lead all land management activities, including soil conservation, water management, and vegetation control. • Develop and execute land use strategies to optimize production while maintaining the ecological balance of the land. • Manage property resources effectively and increase revenue generating opportunities to ensure the health of the land, cattle, and timber for future generations.
Minimum Education
High school
Other Qualifications
Qualifications: • Proven experience in land, wildlife, cattle, and timber management, preferably in a similar geographical region. • Strong knowledge of agricultural and forestry practices, including sustainable land management. • Experience in cattle ranching, herd management, and livestock care. • Knowledge of wildlife conservation, including managing and preserving natural habitats. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle a variety of tasks • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions. • Good communication skills and the ability to work with others to achieve goals • A valid driver’s license is required; experience with equipment operation (tractor) is a preferred.
