John McGuire
John McGuire is the director of Tall Timbers Prescribed Fire Applications Program and a forestry and prescribed-fire professional dedicated to restoring the culture of fire across the Southeast. He works with private landowners and partners to expand the safe and effective use of prescribed fire while restoring fire-dependent landscapes. A graduate of Auburn University’s School of Forestry, his career has focused on longleaf pine, prescribed fire, and developing practical solutions that help private landowners become active conservation stewards. He is particularly interested in innovative ways to compensate landowners who invest their own resources and accept risk to provide broader conservation benefits.
