Description
Turner Enterprises Management is seeking an experienced Kennel and Barn Supervisor to oversee Avalon Plantation’s kennel, barn, feed, and maintenance programs and support exceptional quail hunting experiences for the principal owner, family, and guests. Avalon Plantation is a 20,000-acre private hunting and conservation property in Florida’s Red Hills region, approximately 35 minutes from Tallahassee. Oversee the care, training, nutrition, grooming, exercise, and health of dogs, horses, and mules. Manage kennel and barn facilities, fencing, tack, hunting wagons, buggies, and related equipment. Coordinate feed, hay, veterinary, farrier, and animal-care needs. Supervise the Assistant Barn and Kennel Supervisor and Feed & Maintenance Coordinator. Lead planning and execution of quail hunting trips and coordinate with property staff. Support quail habitat, pasture, prescribed burning, mowing, disking, and other land-management activities. Maintain animal inventories, feeding records, hunting data, budgets, and operational records. Develop Avalon’s dog breeding program and participate in Field Trials. Operate tractors, mowers, ATVs/UTVs, and other equipment as needed. Maintain high standards of safety, animal care, property appearance, and guest experience. Qualifications 5+ years of quail management and dog/horse training experience. 3+ years working in or supervising luxury hunting experiences. 2+ years of firearms experience and Hunter Safety Education. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and administrative skills. Microsoft Office proficiency. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
