Avalon Plantation, part of Turner Enterprises, is a spectacular 20,000-acre private property specializing in first-class hunting, timber production and wildlife management. We’re seeking a meticulous and dedicated House & Office Assistant to join our exceptional guest services team to maintain the cleanliness and attractiveness of our main and guest homes while providing outstanding services to our guests. In addition, this position will assist with general office upkeep and administrative tasks.
ABOUT THE POSITION
As a House & Office Assistant, your duties will include maintaining the beauty and charm of our guest lodging and surrounding facilities as well as assisting with office duties and administrative tasks. Throughout this time, you will have the unique opportunity of helping guests with daily needs, including room care, meal preparation and meal service. The office portion of your job will allow you the unique opportunity to assist the Property Manager with overall property operations.
You will also be responsible for:
Maintaining an impeccable standard of cleanliness and presentation of the main house and guest homes, including all rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
Performing various cleaning and maintenance activities as directed by Supervisor.
Handling laundry duties, ensuring clothes and linens are fresh, clean, and pressed.
Performing regular and thorough cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing.
Assisting with the inspection and polishing of silver and brass; applying polishing agents to clean and restore items as directed by Supervisor.
Efficiently managing household supplies and ensuring everything is stocked and in its place.
Assisting the Supervisor in setting up and managing meal preparation, dining service, special events and gatherings, ensuring everything from decorations to dining arrangements is executed flawlessly.
Maintaining knowledge of arrivals / departures and stay-overs for each day.
Identifying and reporting any cleanliness and maintenance needs to supervisor.
Responding to guests’ needs and informing management of any guest-related issues.
Maintaining a safe environment for both staff and guests.
Assisting with annual deep cleanings of guest facilities.
Occasionally assisting with any ground’s duties or other property duties as required and assigned by the supervisor or the Property Manager.
Assisting with hurricane/storm preparation and cleanup as needed.
Assisting the Property Manager with office duties including, but not limited to: filing invoices, sorting mail, answering phones, organizing workspaces, cleaning the office and common areas, making deliveries, running errands, taking notes, and any other duties that assist the Property Manager in day-to-day operations.
All other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
On a regular basis, you can expect to:
Stand; sit; walk; move hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 75lbs.
Perform physical labor for extended periods of time.
Be on your feet for extended periods of time.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
You will regularly be required to work long hours, and you may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and extreme heat. You may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. You will be occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
You will be required to work on nights, weekends, and holidays, and during fall and winter, this position will often require work in excess of eight hours in a workday.
